Positano Beach – Hill view
When To Go
Anytime is great for photos. Sunset will give you beautiful light as well as the glow of the buildings on the hill. Sunrise will ensure soft light and no people in your photos.
Instagrammable Moment
Upwards looking photos with you in the foreground and hill in the background. The best area is up against the fence of the private beach area.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
The Positano beach is an iconic location and is one of the best places for photos in Positano. A great idea is to take a picnic with you while you wait for the perfect sunset moment. The changing sunlight over the back of the hill and the twinkling lights on the buildings make it one of the most Instagrammable spots in Positano. Don’t forget to put the camera down and enjoy the moment.

Positano Beach – L'Incanto Beach Lounges
When To Go
Early morning for a deserted beach or later in the day to ensure the umbrellas are open.
Instagrammable Moment
Lounging like a European celebrity on the beach lounges or walking through the laneways between the umbrellas.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
The beach lounges and beach umbrellas on the Positano beach are some of the most iconic Instagram photos. The colourful umbrellas against the backdrop of the town on the hill are beautiful. If you go early morning you’ll usually have the area to yourself and won’t have to pay to enter the area. They open the umbrellas at around 8:00 am. So if you’re there in Autumn like I was you you’ll get it all to yourself with the umbrellas and still have them open.
This is one of the best photo locations in Positano. You can still get some great photos during the day when there are people there. However, you may be asked to pay. The cost was around twenty-five euros per person.

Positano Beach
When To Go
Whenever you want. In the evening for the lights, or the morning for softer light.
Instagrammable Moment
frolicking in the water with Positano behind you, or acting the washed-up mermaid on the beach.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
Swimming in the Mediterranean is something almost spiritual for me. The water is so smooth and cool. You can grab some photos from the water, and these especially are some of the best photos on Instagram from Positano. Flick your hair around, or simply gaze at this incredible view you’ve been lucky enough to visit. You can also get the umbrellas in the background. It’s a cheeky way of getting them in a photo without paying the fee.

Franco’s Bar
When To Go
Get there before it opens at 5:30 pm to line up. The best time for photos at Franco’s Bar is sunset.
Instagrammable Moment
Watching the sunset over Positano while sipping on a very extravagant cocktail.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
Franco’s Bar is one of Positano’s most fashionable bars, it’s also one of the best places for photos in Positano. The bar has a perfect, unobstructed view of the hill, and you can watch the colours change during sunset over the sea. The bar itself is gorgeous with a Mediterranean vibe and open-air terrace. Order a drink, and you will be served with olives and popcorn. This Instagrammable spot in Positano is perfect for photos, but also perfect for sitting with friends and chatting with one of the most beautiful views in Europe in front of you.

Your Positano Hotel
When To Go
Whenever it fits in your schedule
Instagrammable Moment
Choose an iconic view from your hotel and snap a photo.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
Just about every hotel will have some of the best views in Positano. Most of them are located somewhere on the hill, so just have a wander and find a location that offers an Instagram photo opportunity. I was lucky enough to have a photo bomber in mine. If you’re interested, I stayed in Casa Teresa, which was an amazing price, included breakfast, had lovely rooms and perfect Positano views.

Fornillo Beach
When To Go
Early morning if you want no one in your photos (but the umbrellas won’t be up). Late afternoon for a softer light and open umbrellas.
Instagrammable Moment
Twirling amongst the colourful umbrellas
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
Fornillo Beach is a short walk around the headland from Positano’s main beach. The colourful beach umbrellas are why it’s rated as one of the best photo spots in Positano. The beach is much smaller, and the hill behind it is less photogenic, but it makes up for it with rows of bright umbrellas. Fornillo Beach is usually much quieter than the main beach here, even though it is a short ten-minute walk. Make sure you add this to your Instagrammable spots in Positano list, as well as your places to swim. It’s also cheaper to rent a beach chair here.

Positano Marina
When To Go
Morning is best here. It gets busy with all the ferries and boat tours from about 10:00 am onwards.
Instagrammable Moment
Sitting on the stone quay and admiring the view of Positano.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
The Marina is where the ferries and boat tours pick up and drop off passengers. It’s nothing special until you walk to the edge and look back towards the main town of Positano. From here you can see why you should visit it for some beautiful photos of Positano. If you get creative with your angles you could take photos here at any time, but once the ferries start running it will be busy.

The Delicatessen Positano
When To Go
Early morning for this super cute corner of Positano. Otherwise, you’ll end up fighting with the throngs of day visitors.
Instagrammable Moment
Posing on the staircase with the pretty pink building behind you.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
The Delicatessen is a rather random location to add to the most Instagrammable spots in Positano, but once you’re there you’ll see why. The building is super sweet and looks authentically Italian. The best part about this spot is the stone staircase beside the deli. This allows for poses with the building in the background.

Positano Views
When To Go
The views of Positano are literally everywhere. It’s the kind of place where you need a camera on you at all times.
Instagrammable Moment
Dreamily staring out over the views of Positano, or secretly taking a break from all the hills and stairs.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
Positano has some gorgeous views for photography. I wanted to stop at just about every corner to photograph them. Some of the best ones can be found on the main road that runs through Positano. While you’re exploring you can take some time out for some photos in Positano with some truly breathtaking views.
If you want an actual location then walk up towards Franco’s Bar and keep going past it. Along this part of the road, you will discover many places for photos.
Going the other way is just as rewarding with beautiful views over Positano. Just head towards Restaurant Mediterraneo and you’ll have plenty of opportunities.

Positano By Boat
When To Go
When the ferry or tour boat leaves.
Instagrammable Moment
Staring back at the majesty of Positano rising up the hills before you.
Why It's The Best Photo Spot In Positano
There is nothing quite like seeing Positano from the water. No other view shows the true beauty of the little town on the Amalfi Coast. This has got to be one of the best photo spots in Positano. You can do a private tour if you want luxury, or a group tour for cheaper to see the rest of the coast. An alternative is to catch the ferry to or from Positano. You can take a direct ferry to Sorrento or ones that go via Capri. Just be prepared for a rush of people trying to get the best Instagram photo at the same time.

Hi! Thanks for checking out my blog, we use a Nikon DSLR camera for all our photos on the blog. The only one that was Iphone was the last one (that’s why the quality isn’t as good).
